Scratch n' Sniff

It's lavender picking time!
August 14th rings in the annual Chappell Hill Lavender Festival, a time where visitors to this tiny Texas town can pick aromatic lavender and purchase all sorts of great smelling lavender goods.
My brother and I took an hour drive through the areas scenic hillsides to the Chappell Hill Lavender Farm for the festival.
The area was beautiful to say the least. The farm consisted of 3,000 lush lavender plants that cascaded over several rolling acres to a large gazebo and pond.
Some friends of mine met up with us and we spent hours roaming through the acreage, picking lavender and sipping on lavender lemonade to beat the heat.
What an awesome day!
We'll be going again next year for sure.
